Our Values
In all that we do, we at Fellowship Dallas seek to faithfully pursue the following values:
Dependence on God through Worship and Prayer.
We believe that worship is a loving and intelligent response to the nature and person of God. We express our worship in innovative and contemporary ways that are understandable to the culture in which we live. We make it a priority to gather regularly for celebration and corporate prayer, acknowledging God’s worth through praise and communing with Him through prayer. Since apart from God we can do nothing of eternal significance, every ministry of Fellowship Dallas is conducted as an act of worship and characterized by a reliance on prayer from conception through execution. Mark 14:3-9; John 4:23-24; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Culture of Grace.
We believe that God has demonstrated His grace by fully and permanently accepting us through Jesus Christ and His finished work upon the cross. We receive this grace by accepting His undeserved love, unconditional acceptance and complete forgiveness. We delight in extending this grace in respectful and responsive ways to lost and broken people in our community regardless of their hurts, habits or hang-ups. We believe that people are more important than programs and relationships are more important than rules. Our goal is to meet people where they are and encourage them to take the next step toward a growing relationship with Christ. Ephesians 1:2-10; 2:1-10
Biblical Truth.
We believe the Bible is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, reproving, correcting, and training in righteousness. God’s Word is the authoritative and trustworthy standard by which we live and we value its teaching above church tradition or human rules created to legislate the Christian life. The Bible is timeless and timely, relevant to the common needs of all people at all times and to the specific issues of contemporary living. Therefore, we teach and preach God’s word in an authentic and culturally relevant way and we submit to the authority of Scripture in order to present every person complete in Christ. 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; Colossians 1:28
Missional Living.
We realize that we are sent people sent on mission, just as Jesus was sent by the Father to save the world. We believe that all people matter to God, so we are committed to sharing His love and grace with others here in Dallas and around the world. We engage people God has brought into our lives in real and meaningful relationships. We do not merely wait for others to come to us, but actively meet them wherever they are in order to win them to Christ. We first demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to people and are then ready with an answer for the hope that is within us, encouraging them to take the next step toward a relationship with Him. Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23; 1 Peter 3:15-16
Authentic Community.
We believe that God has created all men and women for community as a reflection of the relationship expressed within the Trinity and we believe that progress in the faith is impossible apart from community. We seek authentic, loving, healthy relationships as we journey together in Jesus Christ. We share our lives, we speak the truth in love to one another, and we care for one another, encourage one another, and serve one another toward the ultimate goal of maturity in Christ. Every person who has the Holy Spirit within has been entrusted with spiritual gifts. In community, we encourage one another to discover and exercise these gifts in order to build up the body of Christ. John 13:34-35; Ephesians 4:2-16; Romans 12:3-8
Leaving a Legacy.
There is high calling on every Christian to transfer the faith to the next generation. We are responsible for passing along to others, including our children, both in the home and in the faith, the knowledge, skills, and opportunities for service that God has entrusted to us. Therefore, we expect every leader, both in the home and in the church, to train up successors so that the next generation will be equipped to reach its peers. Romans 15:14; Ephesians 6:4; 1 Timothy 1:18; 2 Timothy 2:2
