David Six

David Six

My name is David Six. My wife, Jeanie, and I have been attending Fellowship for almost 15 years. Jeanie volunteers in Route 45 and the Ark, while I have led a life group and currently lead a men's Bible study at our home on Wednesday mornings. I serve on our church's Generosity Ministry Leadership Team and am now in my sixth year on our elder board.

In a world of fleeting commitments and broken promises, how comforting it is to know that God's Word stands firm. Jesus, as our Melchizedek-like Priest, bridges the gap between our frailty and God's holiness. He doesn't just sympathize with our weaknesses; He advocates for us relentlessly. Whatever burden we're carrying today — guilt from past mistakes, anxiety about the future, or the weight of daily struggles — we can bring it to Him. His priesthood ensures we're never alone; our prayers rise directly to the throne of grace.

In a world where everything feels uncertain — relationships, health, finances, even our own emotions — this verse anchors us in something immovable: Jesus Christ is our priest forever. He is not tired of us. He is not disappointed with us beyond His grace. He is not reconsidering His calling. God has sworn, and He will not change His mind. "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15). Amen.
