Fellowship Dallas Deacons

Fellowship Dallas Deacons – Serving the Church
In Act chapter 6:1-6 we see the initiation of what would become the church position of Deacon. A problem arose that threatened the unity of the new church and distracted the Apostles from their God-given role of teaching the church. Men were identified to address this issue thus preserving church unity and allowing the Apostles to focus on teaching the new church. Later in Paul’s letter to the Roman church, we see in the first 2 verses of chapter 16 that a woman named Pheobe was addressed as a Deaconess for her commendable service to the church. We therefore have men and women serving as Deacons at Fellowship Dallas.Deacons serve under the authority of the Elders and support the staff in addressing the needs of the church. Deacons therefore provide a unifying multiplication of service to meet Jesus’ command to love one another.
